Mission Statement
“ADAPT Texas strives to create, adapt, and develop tools for individuals with disabilities, advocate for communities, and create change, one person at a time.”
What is ADAPT Texas?
ADAPT Texas is an organization in the University of Texas at Austin dedicated to creating accessible technology, advocating for disability rights, and fostering an inclusive community.
Through engineering innovation, community outreach, and education, we empower individuals with disabilities by designing custom assistive devices, hosting workshops, and connecting people with essential resources.
Design Teams
Our design teams work collaboratively to engineer real‑world solutions that enhance accessibility and improve mobility for individuals with disabilities. Each team tackles a specialized project, blending engineering innovation, user‑centered design, and hands‑on prototyping to develop impactful assistive technology.
CARE Research Day
At the end of the year, we showcase our work at CARE Research Day, demonstrating our commitment to designing functional and inclusive solutions for those in need.

Technical Workshops
We believe in empowering students with the technical skills needed to create real-world assistive technology. Throughout the semester, we host a series of hands-on workshops designed to help students build confidence in key engineering skills.
What You’ll Learn:
Soldering
Learn how to safely solder and assemble electronic components.
CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
Gain experience in designing 3D models for prototyping.
Circuits & Wiring
Understand the fundamentals of electrical circuits used in assistive devices.
Microcontrollers & Coding
Explore the basics of Arduino and other embedded systems.
Whether you're preparing to join a Design Team or just looking to expand your technical knowledge, these workshops provide a collaborative and supportive learning environment for all skill levels.
