Universal Prosthetic

ADAPT Texas' Prosthetic Team is dedicated to providing free prosthetics to animal patients across Austin. Our prosthetic team consists of biomedical and mechanical engineers who are mastering skills in 3D-printing, manufacturing, and assembly. We create low-cost devices that prioritize stability and form, working with a Safe in Austin Ranch to make devices for a pair of adorable animals!

Current Pawsthetic Patients:

• Project A – Evie: Evie is an adorable dwarf goat who has a lame front leg. Our project involved creating a 3D-printed holder and a rubber-tread base to allow her to but heads with the other goats!
• Project B – Halo: Halo is an unspecified white dog who is missing her two front paws and back leg. Our project involves finding ways to ensure mobility while protecting her ability to move in a pain-free way! We're using aluminum limbs to help make walking possible.
